Reading through the various reports this week of Steve Jobs' third medical leave from Apple, I am struck by an almost mournful tone. The previous two absences were marked by coverage that focused heavily on his return date. Now, we see retrospective pieces and analysis of the
company's long term future without its peerless icon. Is Steve Jobs really facing the end here? Or are reporters lazily cribbing from cold-storage obituaries?
